Well, a part of the social change project for my class is to research or create art pertaining to our subject, which can broadly be defined as sexual health for young adults. My preferred media is paint. I’m no Rembrandt or anything, so it was hard for me to try and express a message of sexual health through painting. I didn’t know what I would do….
So, I created some vagina art. Not as epic and grandiose as I’d thought it would be, but I still like it none the less. If you’ll note, the condom is right there on the clit to represent protecting oneself, and it also represents power-as the clit is really a powerful spot on a woman’s body. I chose bright colors because that’s my style-making something real and maybe mundane look surreal and beautiful. Now I have something really interesting to put on my wall.
